My work is visual poetry for what I love. This is one of a series of five paintings (currently), three of which I began at the same time.  I started with a barrage of collage and then let the painting tell me where it wanted to go. What emerged was a series based on cities I have some fondness for or attachment to. This one is a city I have never seen, Kyoto, Japan, because my sons and I want to visit it some day. This is the first in the series I completed.
